Eviva
Institutional B2B EdTech: oral defence and portfolio assessment tools for secondary schools.
Brief
Eviva is the institutional sibling of Archie Connect: a B2B platform for the assessment forms — oral defence, portfolio review, process-based assessment — that recover what AI displaces. Where Archie sits with the learner, Eviva sits with the institution. The thesis is that schools who adopt these assessment forms need real infrastructure to do them well at scale: question banks, scheduling, recording, calibration between examiners, and a way to show the evidence base to inspectors and parents.
Approach
The first product is a viva-scheduling and recording tool with a calibration view: two examiners, the same student, side-by-side notes, automatic flagging of grade divergence. The second product is a portfolio assessment tool that tracks process artefacts across a project — drafts, revisions, working notes — and renders the evolution into a rubric-ready summary.
Status
Eviva is in pre-pilot at the American School of Dubai. The pilot runs across English and history at IB Diploma level for the 2026 academic year. The institutional question we are testing is whether viva-style assessment, with proper infrastructure, can hold up to the operational load of a full secondary school.
